As an artist, I love to paint whimsical pet portraits of cats, dogs, fish, birds, reptiles, hedgehogs, and other animals. I aim to perfectly capture the essence and personality of each animal companion, regardless if it is on canvas, paper, or leather bags.
Pet portraits make wonderful gifts for yourself, anniversaries, birthdays, graduation, and other special occasions. Each painting is created with the utmost care and attention to detail. They are truly one of a kind piece of art that will last forever.
While my paintings are there for happy times, they are also there for the somber times. Pet portraits are the perfect way to memorialize your companion when it is their time to cross the rainbow bridge. It helps brings comfort and joy during grief.

Custom Pet Portraits
Whether it is a large scale painting of your dog playing at the beach or a small sticker of your cat playing with their favorite toy, I can create a custom pet portrait for you, your partner, friend, or a loved one!
I typically work with acrylic paint on canvas, gouache on watercolor paper, stickers, or painted directly on your leather bag.

I will provide you my full and undivided attention as you tell me all about how much you love your pet and how much they mean to you. Tell me all about their quirky personalities, their favorite toys, and point out all of their unique features you would like to see included in your artwork.
And do not be shy with the pictures! The more reference pictures I can use the better. Spam me with all of their cuteness!!!

Pet portraits are a fun and unique experience for donors to commission a quick painting of their pet on paper. After the event concludes, I am open to donating a portion of my earning to your cause.

Custom Pet Portraits
Process and Expectations
Process
Please review the Price Sheet and commission choice: Painting on Leather Bags, Acrylic on Canvas, Gouache on Watercolor Paper, and Digital Artwork. Read each option to understand the material, along with the pros and cons for each choice.
Once you know what kind of commission you would like, please fill out my Contact Form with details on the commission option, size, and price you would prefer. You can add pictures of your pet and a leather product for me to reference. If you need your commission shipped, please include your shipping address too. Please double-check the address to make sure it is correct!
After you submit your form, I will send a follow-up email to confirm your order and ask additional questions. Once we are aligned on expectations, I will send you a contract for you to review and sign. I require a 100% deposit and a signed contract before I take on the commission.
After I receive the deposit and a signed contract, I will create concept sketches of your commission for you to review and approve.
After you approve the sketches, I will work on the paintings and send pictures of the final look for final approval. Then I will coordinate shipping or pickup with you.
Expectations
The prices below are per pet and are non-negotiable and non-refundable. If you would prefer a different size canvas, please let me know, and I will follow up with updated pricing.
Pet portraits can be a headshot or full body with a choice of a solid-colored background or a more detailed background for an additional $50.
Price Sheet
Painting on Leather Bags
Pros:
Your pet will be permanently painted on your leather bag. What an amazing way to have a reminder about your pet and strike a conversation about them when people ask “WAIT, is that your DOG?!”
I recommend leather bags with light pebbled texture or smooth leather as the perfect options to paint. To protect the painting from everyday use, I use a sealant to preserve it.
Cons:
Once the paint is on your bag, I am unable to remove the paint. It is a one and done kind of deal.
Sizes and Pricing per Pet:
4 - 6 inches $100
6 - 8 inches $200
8 - 12 inches $300
Shipping and tracking is not included and will be calculated after I receive the details about the dimensions, size, and texture of the bag.
Acrylic on Canvas
Pros:
Acrylic paintings create a beautiful buildup of paint layers and details on a canvas. This option is a great choice for having a painting that is sturdy and ever lasting while having plenty of sizing options, especially for large scale paintings.
Another plus is you would not have to worry about putting the artwork in a frame to protect it.
Cons:
The catch is, the bigger you wish to go with your painting, the trickier shipping can become.
I provide local delivery and if you need it shipped, I can work out pricing for you.
Sizes and Pricing per Pet:
8 × 8 inches $150
11 × 14 inches $250
16 × 20 inches $400
Shipping not included for canvases bigger than 11 × 14 inches.

Gouache on Watercolor Paper
Pros:
Gouache paintings are vibrant and create a beautiful matte finish on watercolor paper.
This option is a great choice for having a painting that ships easily in a flat mailer. Additionally, the painting can be put in a frame for more personalization and style.
Cons:
Due to the painting being on paper, gouache paintings are not as sturdy as a painted canvas and would need more protection when it is on display.
Sizes are limited to the paper sizes I acquire as well.

9 × 12 inches $200

Digital Artwork
Pros:
If you would like your pet’s portrait on a t-shirt, sticker, bookmark, or something other than a typical canvas then a digital piece of artwork would be the right fit for you!
I use my iPad to draw the pet portrait of your heart’s desires. I make sure it is of high resolution and quality to make sure that it prints beautifully on the item of your choice. Multiple copies of the same design can easily be replicated as well! You can have 10 stickers of the same design or even a 100!
Cons:
I can only print stickers in house and other products would need to be sourced from a third-party vendor. I can help recommend other print companies, if need be.
Pricing:
$100 per pet, background and accessories included.
$3 sticker add-on.
Shipping and tracking are included.
About Me
My name is Lauren Ramos. I am an artist specializing in acrylic paint and illustration. I am located in Washington, D.C. and originally from Miami, FL. I absolutely adore animals from cats, dogs, and wildlife. I believe all animals have personality and unique spirit to them, which I try to reflect in my paintings and drawings.
My previous collaborations include Marc Jacobs, Saint Helens Leatherworks, Meowtel, Mount Purrnon, and A Cat’s Life Rescue.
When I am not painting, I enjoy exploring all the fun things D.C. has to offer with my partner and friends like nature hikes, restaurants, art galleries, the zoo, museums, gardens, concerts, and plays.
I also like to spend time at home with my cat and manager, Louise. She is a black and white sassy cat and is often the muse of my paintings!

After discussing the artwork's vision and expectations, I will email you my contract outlining pricing, deadlines, and expectations.
I only accept 100% payment upfront. Please review my terms and conditions listed in the contract. I do not offer refunds.
After the contract is signed and payment is received, I will email you concept sketches, drafts of the final design, and then send you the final product.
